injection mould steel, how do we choose the right mold steel for your plastic part ?

Mold or tool steel is important as it determines among other the quality of your injection molded parts: There are different types of Mold steel types for your plastic injection molds.
In our plastic mould company- Triple-c we distinguish 3 types of mold steel . ( And if you wish we can also offer aluminium molds)

1> short run or prototype molds

Using short run molds we can make maximum 2000-10 000 shots. in this case usually  p20 or aluminium will be used. In this case we use a mold base that is used.  This is the outer frame in where the cavity and core will be assembled.

2> medium series run molds or d-class molds called by experts.
​in this case we can offer P20 or 1050C mold steel for your cavity and core. 

​3> high quantity run molds.


Each project  has it's specific requirement and issues and together with the projected quantities per year and the life time of the parts, we determine the steel type  for your project. A choice we will discuss with you of course.

SO To avoid misalignment of costs versus mold steel type we need to know your products life time and estimated quantities. In this case we can choose the right steel type for you.
one of the most important factor when buying steel injection molds from China is the price.

When costs are low , initial investments will be low, and thus there is more budget for your marketing and sales department. ( or more profit).
